Scoopy rental in Phuket: the easiest first bike
If you want a Scoopy rental in Phuket that feels manageable from the first metre, this is the one I hand to nervous riders. At 94 kg with a 750 mm seat, the Honda Scoopy 110 is the lightest and lowest scooter in our fleet, and nearly everyone can put both feet flat on the ground at a red light. Around the one-way streets of Phuket Old Town, through the Thalang Road evening crowds, or across to Central Phuket for the air-con, it is effortless.
The 109.51 cc fuel-injected engine returns roughly 55 km per litre, so the 4.2-litre tank takes you from the shop to Rawai and back several times before you need a petrol station. Honda's Combi Brake links the front disc and rear drum, so a panicked grab of one lever still slows both wheels, which matters when a Phuket downpour arrives without warning.
Be honest with yourself about hills, though. The Scoopy climbs Patong Hill from Kathu with one rider at a steady pace. Add a passenger and the Big Buddha road or the Kata–Karon viewpoint stretch becomes a slow crawl in the left lane.
Who it suits, and who should choose something else
Pick the Scoopy if you are a solo traveller, a first-time rider, or shorter in height and you mostly need beach runs, markets and cafés. If you are two-up every day, the Honda Click 125 carries a passenger with more ease at the same rate tier. If your plans include the west-coast hills or a full island loop, go straight to the Honda Click 160, which weighs barely more but pulls much harder. Our guide to choosing between 110, 125, 160 and 350 cc scooters walks through the trade-offs.
What's included
Every Scoopy comes with two helmets, a phone holder, and free delivery to your hotel or villa anywhere on the island. The deposit is refundable and returned when you hand the bike back. Thai law requires a Thai motorcycle licence or an International Driving Permit that covers motorcycles, so bring one to pickup; read whether you need a licence to rent a scooter in Phuket if you are unsure which document counts. We are open 10:00–19:00 every day and take cash, credit card and Alipay.
Best areas for the Scoopy 110
The Scoopy is at its best on flat ground. From our shop it is the ideal scooter for exploring Phuket Old Town and the Rassada pier road. It also suits the beach roads around Rawai and Nai Harn, where distances are short and traffic is calm. First-time riders should also read our first-ride-in-Thailand checklist before setting off.
